Spy cameras - body worn surveillance
A frequently used application of spy cameras is for body worn surveillance, a body worn camera kit would usually consist of a button style spy camera with a cable linking it to a small recorder, the user would generally hide the recorder unit inside his/her bag or pocket.
The button camera finish allows the user to poke the camera lens through a shirt/blouse button hole - so hopefully keeping the surveillance system as covert as possible.
A good body worn spy camera will record both video and audio at the touch of a button, you would have a small LCD screen built into the recorder allowing instant playback of recorded footage if necessary.
A time & date stamp should also be applied to the video footage. Recorded footage would be stored on an SD card for playback later on any PC or laptop (or instant playback through the unit itself).
The camera will draw it’s power from the rehargeable battery built into the recorder itself - if this is not the case then be aware that you will need a battery connected to the camera…
This sort of spy camera system is often used for interview recording, mystery shopping or any covert surveillance whereby a portable body worn system is necessary.
