Our in vehicle cameras can offer great evidence in accident situations and so are often referred to as in car witness cameras.

They are most often used by tax drivers and driving instructors but, for accident evidential purposes, are becoming increasingly popular with ordinary drivers – they bring a great fun aspect too as you can video journeys with your friends and family and record what was done and said inside the car (with the dual camera systems).

The spy camera and 4G memory are hidden inside a very smart looking, fully working wristwatch.

The camera, and watch of course, can even be used underwater – hence the rubber strap supplied.  It can record HD video and audio or capture stills at the touch of a button.

Our immediate concerns with regards to a spy camera built into a watch were “what will the camera view be like?” and “what strange position will I need my arm in to get decent footage?” – these worries were alleviated as soon as we started testing the covert camera as the lens is actually set upside down in relation to the numbers on the clock face.  So, when you have your arms folded or have your watch arm across your body then the lens will capture the HD video the correct way up. Genius!

The Blackbery 9300 Spy Phone, once given to your target, will send you copies of all of the text messages sent and received by the spy phone.

In addition it has the standard “call and listen in feature”, also known as “spy call” – this basically means that you can call the Blackberry Spy Phone from your own mobile, the call will connect completely silently and you can then listen in to sounds and conversations taking place nearby the spy phone.

Ideal if you suspect a partner of cheating or some other underhand behaviour in the workplace or at home.

Simply put the SIM card supplied into the hidden slot on the audio bug and phone the number, the call will silently connect and you will be able to listen in to conversation within the nearby vicinity of the listening bug.

With standby time of 5 days and actual “call connected” running time of around 20hrs you’ll find this audio bug hard to beat on both features and price.

The icing on the cake is that you can set the GSM listening device to actaully phone you when it detects sound nearby, so if it’s in an area that should usually be quiet or if you don’t know when your intended targets will be home you don’t have to keep phoning the bug in the hope that you call in at the right time – with this excellent sound detection feature the audio bug will call you!

Previously the Acorn Wildlife Infrared Camera allowed you to record in high quality VGA resolution of 640×480, this has now been increased on the HD version to a crystal clear and crisp HD resolution of 1440×1080!

Not only that but the SD card capacity is also higher on the HD Acorn allowing use of a 32G SD card increased up from the standard 16G SD card.

As always this new Acorn Trail Camera offers video or photos capture both day and night, the night vision being aided by the built in infrared leds (available in both the red glow and the invisible IR version).  It’s completely self contained, uses AA batteries and time & date stamps all recorded footage.

Ideal for use in areas without mains power as the Acorn can run off the batteries for weeks and even months in certain circumstances.

EDIT – sorry forgot to mention, the new HD Ltl Acorn 6210 also takes an extra 4 AA batteries taking total capacity up to 12!  On top of that it also records audio aswell as the high resolution HD video.

The downside is that we only have about 4 of these excellent little Mobi DVRs on the shelf and then we will have to wait for stock through the main distribution line – which will be dry until next year now.

For those of you that have not seen or used the Mobi DVR, it is an excellent and very easy to use Mini Portable DVR that has many features that a standard size CCTV DVR would have. It runs off 12v and records to an SD card with the usual recording modes available, such as scheduling, continuous motion detection.  As you would expect, all footage is time and date stamped and you can adjust the recording speed (max is 25fps real-time).

All in all a fantastic little 1 channel DVR that can be powered from our 12v battery for over 20hrs if you need it to be really portable – alternatively it’s supplied with a 12v mains power adaptor for more conventional use.

Could be a very interesting move as the vast majority of covert surveillance equipment and particularly covert, hidden, pinhole spy cameras that are readily available in the UK are imported from Chinese manufacturers.

If this is a blanket ban on the export of pinhole spy cameras from China then over time the UK should see a real shortage of this type of popular covert surveillance kit, which could in turn push prices up until alternatives are found.

As the Plug Adaptor Voice Recorder runs from the mains and not from a battery it can run indefinitely and, fitted with a micro SD card, will only start recording when there is sound in the vicinity.  The mains power feature is important as most voice recorders run from a battery and so have limited running time before you need to get to them for recharging etc – this is not the case with our Plug Adaptor Voice Recorder!
